Having problems with companies reading my ECU, at the worse it needs replacing, but what is the standard cost no awadays?

They are'nt cheap - we had to get one replaced on a work Caddy van and VW wanted the best part of a grand, until I fiddled with the service history and got them to replace it under warrenty

my mk4 evu is screwed i think. many random fault codes keep appearing, any idea what id look at for a brand new ecu for a mk4 GTI? i know its going to sting, but any ball prk figures?

Not sure of engine code but about £500 seems to be avarage price.

Try they will give a quote for £30 which is refundable if they get the job of repairing the ecu. Their web site gives a standard cost of £90 plus parts to repair most ecus. It might be worth looking at there website as it is quite helpful.
