A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I was getting nowhere in the other thread i started, so i thought i'd start again and try to explain it in a bit more detail...
Ive just picked up a kr 16v engine wiring loom from a CE2 J plate corrado. I know its silly to buy it without knowing whether it will fit in my golf mk2 or not, but I only paid 30 quid for it, and as it was a breakers i couldnt leave it there for someone else to snap up.
Right... Ive just done the very tedious task of labelling up pretty much every connection coming from the loom ( with a big thanks to RUBJOHNNY for the faq... that has helped me no end. Infact i dont think i could of done it without your help!!!! . definately owe u some beer tokens for that )
Only problems ive come accross so far is that the wiper motor is located in a different position on the bulkhead. And im not sure what the single connectors on the fusebox end of the loom are for... Ive looked at the wiring diagram and still cant distinguish them. They dont plug into the fusebox, they seem to hang loose and plug into other single connectors around that area. Any ideas what they are or does anyone have a wiring diagram for these connectors?
Another thing is i unplugged a double relay ontop of the fusebox and forgot to pick it up, it clips onto the top and has 2 8 pin(i think) connectors plugging into it. I cant find this on any diagrams either...
Does anyone have any ideas on any of the above or any other pitfalls i might have when using this loom?
Thanks in advance for any info whatsoever.
cheers, tony.

anyone?

Hard to say without pics of wires.
I'd chuck it all together, plug everything in where you definately know where it goes and see if it runs.
If it does then try all the other bits (lights etc) til you find something that doesnt work then you know what the wires are for

I knew that was coming... lol. I havent got a digi camera yet either so i cant take any pics.
Its hard to explain what i mean. They are basically 1 pin connector plugs that seem to hang loose/dangle around the fusebox area. If you just look at the fusebox you should see a couple. They are all different colours, but usually the colour of the connectors match up with the wire going in to it. Could be a number of things i know, and if i cant make out what they are ill use the method u have suggested. Thanks for the info though i appreciate it. Have you any other ideas?
cheers again

I would think anything like that is aftermarket (electric windows, mirrors etc maybe?). the important ones will be the multi-pin plugs

Thats ok then.. Ive got every connector that plugs into the fusebox labeled up... And Ill be fitting it all tomorrow.
Thanks ^neo^ !

It looks as if the headlight connections are different between the corrado and the golf aswell...
Does anyone know if i should use the golf headlight wiring loom or just swap the plug on it?
Does anyone have a corrado 16v wiring diagram?
Thanks

Cheeky mare... How do you know?
You got a wiring diagram layed out in front of you?
Let the pro's answer this one

Just keep as much of your own loom as you can, theres no advantage swapping things like wiper & headlight looms, they're the same for all MK2s
Basically strip everything out of the loom that isn't to do with the engine specificly, including things like pressure & coolant sensors etc. Though sometimes its easier to leave some things in if they are wrapped in with the engine loom, this is a judgement call...
