mk2 golf headlights!

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

as every mk2 golf gti owner knows, when it starts raining and becomes a little dark you may aswell drive with your eyes shut!lol.
mk2's just seem to have the worst headlights in history, i think taping candles to the front would be more efficient!hahaha.
well was just wondering if these up-rated headlight looms that take the power straight from the battery are anygood??? in particular the ones on ebay for sale for around the 20pound mark?? if anyone has these or knows of any other solutions i would be very greatful for some info!!
thanks for your time

many threads on this, general opinion is that yes, they are a great idea. And why on earth did VW not put a relay in the circuit in the first place?
do a search for more info on how to do it...
A:

yes relays are great, if you have enough spare ££ buy osram 50% extr bulbs and new lamps if yours are yellow, the lamps arnet that much new
A:

only issue with most of the relay looms sold is they only have 1 relay & fuse, so if the relay or fuse blows you have no lights at all! The matey-matey site has a guide showing how to make your own, but I modified it to include 3 relays & fuses, one per side for dipped and an extra for main beam.

hey robjonny :)
any chance you could post/send me instructions on how you made your loom.
i do feel like i'm driving with my eyes closed at night have to use full beam as much as possible.
i'd be VERY grateful i you could :)
oh yeah, as you may of noticed my gti has the jetta headlights - does this make a difference ?
A:

Check out the guide on . My loom is basically the same, apart from I added 2 extra fuses & relays so there was 1 per side for dipped and another for main
I might start making them, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered

cheers, have looked - think i can manage it - nice one :)
