hey guys.
on my 1988 mk2 golf gti the central locking has been getting abit excited recently!lol.
by excited i meen that locking is fine, but every now and then the passenger side door decides not to open, along with the fuel cap :(
this doesnt bother me 2much other than my girl friend havning to clime across me!lol.
was just wondering if this may be the central locking pump, as when i unlock the car, if the passenger door doesnt open the pump makes a really quite (unusual sound )

sounds like you may have a split in one of your vacuum lines, or as you say the pump isnt well

oh, a split in a vacume line doesnt sound good :S
its really wierd because all the central locking is working fine at the moment ?! dont really understand!
when the central locking is actuated there is a hiss that comes from the pump as normal, but when the passenger side door doesnt open the hiss is really quite, almost silent. would this mean the pump is more likely to be on its way out than a split vacume line??
