I've only noticed this recently but everytime i go round a corner maybe a lil too fast, the oil light blinks on and off for a couple of seconds and beeps and then goes off again. obviously i shouldn't go round the corner too fast in the first place but is this like some sort of warning or is there something up with the electrics??

Your oil is low and your reving it too hard. Top up your oil immediately!

It is of the utmost IMPORTANCE that if your oil level is FINE (halfway+ on the dipstick) and the car is still displaying said symptoms, that you get the oil pump checked out immediately!
There are three possibilities:
1) The wire-mesh filter on the pump's inlet has become clogged OR
2) The pump itself is faulty OR
3) BOTH
When you corner hard, the oil shifts to one side of the sump, and the already clogged/faulty pump cannot get enough oil to the engine, the pressure drops suddenly and
your oil light and buzzer comes on...
If this is the case, you WILL eventually seize your engine due ot a lack of oil being pumped.
Like they say... a pump in time ... saves nine (or your whole engine in this case!)

my god, sounds bad! i better get it checked out straight away...! is it best to check the oil levels and top up the required amount and see how it goes or just take it straight to a garage and get it checked out there?

yes top it up asap if its low then see, should be just the level

i bloody well hope so...spent so much on the car already as it is...still need to sort out me wheel bearing too...

oil should be check every 2 weeks minimum, as water + antfreeze or summer coolant, tyres pressures etc and battery fluid every now and again
