Q:
hi all
i have a problem with my cobra alarm fitted to the car. It controls the central locking and when activated with the key fob it flashes the indicators twice and when deactivated flashes them once.
I went out to it yesterday deactivated it got in the car drove round the block, parked up and when i went to lock it with the key fob it didnt work. The light on the fob was flashing red when i pressed the button which made me think it was going flat so i changed the battery and it made no differance and the red light stills flashes. Since then i have checked all the connections and earth wires and fuses and everything looks ok but it still wont work. There is power getting to the fuse, the alarm unit and the immobilser but it still wont work.
I have a seperate thing to deactivate the immobilser and it is all working fine and i can start the car but i cant lock it or set the alarm.
Has anyone any ideas as to what could be wrong

There is obviously a problem with the remote. Have you got a spare? You might need to reset it. Press both buttons at the same time.

Press both buttons at the same time for 10 seconds then release, the LED should remain on in the remote, then just press one button to transmit. Obviously do all this whilst standing next to the car and it should re-syncronise the system.
