A&Q about 350Z
Q:
i have seen some headlight uprated looms for golfs on ebay? are they worth the £. many thanks
A:
headlight looms rock, one of the best mods you can do ...fit some osram 50% extra bulbs while your there
cant vouch for the quality of a ebay one...i made my own
A:
have a look on matey-matey.com
There is a guide on there on how to make them, im sure it will be cheaper than to pay £15 or whatever they are off ebay!!
A:
Definitely do it yourself - study the matey-matey guide and get the spotlight loom from Halfords - includes the correct relay too.
A:
has all the gear, you can do all the correct color wire etc
A:
uprate the earth side of the loom too.
not keen on one relay running 2 lights either. if the relay fails you lose both lights (factory has a fuse per lamp).
get 30amp fused relays rather than an in line fuse.
A:
Somebody on here makes them too, i brought one of him for £20 i think, makes a massive difference and very well made! Can't remember who it was though! Matt somebody maybe???
A:
Defo use a fuse & relay per side, guy off the 'other' forum bought one of these looms and had his relay melt, and was stuck driving around with sidelights and fogs! The loom in question also had the wires soldered directly to the relay spades too, so he couldn't just swap another one in
I've just finished my loom and I used 3 relays & fuses, 1 per side for dipped and another for main. I've already got 3 orders pending

something else to consider is a HID kit. I've just retro fitted one to my bmw 635 as the 25 year old headlights were seriously dangerous. You can pick up a kit for £100ish and fit them reasonably easily.
Having built my own upgraded loom (as per Daniel Stern) for my mk2 I would have to say teh HID kit was a doddle to fit by comparison.
Works great so far and I haven't zapped myself with 22,000 volts yet either, famous last words!!
