1991 MK2 coil conv into ABF?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

First post on here guy's and unfortunatley it involves one of my pet hates electrics!!!!!
Just finished a 2.0ABF (Seat)conv into my MK2 gti (1991 fuse-box) but seem to be having real problems getting the tacho to work, been told to solder a wire from the coil pack to the fuse box(obviously to the relevant connector)and this should send the required signal to operate the tacho BUT after doing this all seemed fine until the rolling road test a few days ago when it just stopped working and the coil pack failed!!!!!
Fitted a new coil pack and the car started 1st time but obviously no tacho as i had disconnected the soldered wire,on re-connecting to see if the tacho worked the car ran for 30 seconds and once again cut out, anyone got any ideas? or someone has informed me you can put the original coil back in(1991 MK2) with some mods once again any info to help out would be greatly appreciated.

PM sc0rian, he has just done the conversion and had a few issues getting the rev counter to work off the abf coil, but managed it in the end
