Hi,
It's been a while since I was last on here and a lot has changed, the mk4 has gone and been replaced with a Diesel MPV and a seven week old baby.
Anyway, my question - I put a switch on the rad fan in the trackcar to bypass the thermostat so I can manually put it on. However at my last trackday I noticed it getting hot so I put the fan but it didn't work causing it to overheat an split a hose. I've checked the wires and there is 10.5v at the connectors but the fan does not work. If I hard wire the fan it works fine. Also tried a fan I know works with the existing wiring and again it does not work. Any ideas what it is / what to check?

Get a relay and run wires direct to/from the battery, and switch it with your old loom. It sounds like there isn't enough current getting through the switch to start the fan spinning
