Well my rear wiper has stopped working, i can hear the ticking noise when its meant to be wiping but no actual movement from the wiper.
Any suggestions?

Probably your motor. The ticking noise you are hearing is probably the relay inside the fuse box. However, it maybe a loose connection. Check wiring.

Had that problem with mk2 polo and mk2 golf.

If it reluctantly starts to move and you can hear the motor running it the gears inside. Mine started doing this and I changed the motor (10 min job). I've not had the old one in bits but you could hear it clicking as the motor ran suggesting that one of the internal gears was riding over the other.

I have had seized spindle bearing,knackered motor and the break in the wire also.
So any of those three ,take your pick.

I had this problem and when i took out the rear wiring loom i found more then 20 cracks in the loom wiring so i mad up my own loom as vag wanted £150 for a full loom.
Also check the wiper stalk thats where mine is broken.

Seems like with all these potential faults it'd be easier to buy another Golf with a working rear wiper
