A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Does anyone know if there is any difference in
1.Physical size shape (interchangability)
2.Flow rate
3.Normal working pressures
between the various mk3 generation 2.0L engines. i.e. 2.0L 8v's 2E, AGG etc and 2.0L 16v ABF?
I have an AGG with stock AGG pump and was wondering if I should swap the pump if there is one with a better capacity/pressure for a high output engine. I'm also hoping to have under piston oil squirters fitted as the AGG doesn't have them where as the 2E and ABF blocks do. (I know I should have bought one of these engines but didn't know at the time and the damage is done) But I guess this will reduce oil pressure at the top of the engine hence thinking I may need a better oil pump.
Also if anyone has got a picture of the 2E, ABF oil squirters in the block (sump off) that would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam

Anyone know anything or got any pic's??

bumpaty BUMP.
Know one know anything? Anyone got oil pumps on the bench with part numbers I can compare with? See if they're all using the same....

The difference is the gear assembly that is driven from the intermediate shaft. I am actually using a GSF Febi pump from a G60 motor with a ABF driven gear to connect to intermediate shaft via the internally splined gear in my 16vT( Ah thats too long a story trust me!). I get the same pressure as STD. AGG same size as G60 I used with same problems as above.

Cheers Toyotec. So you're running a G60 oil pump in an ABF block if I understand correctly, with a 166v intermediate shaft. Does the G60 flow more? (just wondering why you didn't use the original ABF pump.)
And are you saying the AGG 8v is the same pump as the G60 or am I getting it all wrong?!

Yes I am using a G60 pump. That was done when I had an oil pressure problem in a process of elimination. The problem was not the pump. Now that problem has been recitified I never returned the car to the OEM pump as there is no real difference. 1000revs, 100degs oil temp engine is on 1.2 bar, 2000revs, same oil, temp 3 bar limits on 4ish bar at 4500 plus revs. All indicated VDO guage with new sender readings.

So from your experiences then we can draw the conclusion that the ABF and G60 oil pumps pretty much dish out the same flow rate/pressure if you're still experiencing standard pressures. Do you know if G60's have oil squirters up under the pistons? as I know the ABF's do.
