A&Q about 350Z
Q:
have just driven 25 miles home in my 1988 mk2 golf gti and as always was an absolute pleasure! but pulling into my local shops the car stalled:( it has never done this befor. when trying to start the car backup it wound over but didnt fire up, then when it finaly did fire up it ticked over for a short while then stalled again :(
after starting it up again i quickly drove home without taking my foot off the accelerator in fear of it stalling!haha.
when i got home i let it tick over and it sounded fine, and didnt stall either ??!!
whats my car doing?lol. is this a normal problem that anyone else has experienced??
cheers for your time
kristian

hi it sounds a if the idle stabilisation control valve is playing up you can remove it and clean it out with a carb cleaning spray but it may need to be replaced with a new one at around £90.00 sorry, the unit can be found on the right hand side on the inlet manifold it will make a buzzing noise.
hope this is a help

i have just driven the golf for about 40mins and there was no sign of the revs dropping or it stalling atall??!! lol.
how weird is that!
still dont have a clue what could have caused it tho ??
A:
sounds like a vacuum leak or as above isv
check any pipes going to the inlet manifold and any smaller ones around it (theres one used to come loose on my 1st GTI behind the heatshield in the bay)

aww cheers!
have driven 25miles to work and back again, getting stuck in random traffic and all the other exciting commuting experiences lol, and the mk2 hasnt stalled or acted unusual atall, infact its running sweet!!
i will probly give the hoses a quick look over tommorow, but it all seems fine now :D
will it be easy to notice if there is a loose hose or anything??
thanks
