A&Q about 350Z
Q:

hi i have just bought a corrado 2 litre engine to replace my 1.8 16v in my mk2 golf! i want to gas flow my head and i was wondering if there are any differences in the two heads to start with and whether one is better oft to start with. I have kent cams as well as a stainless exhaust system including a 4 branch manifold. thanks for your help, rich

just use the one that's in best nick, no difference in potential when ported and gasflowed.

Like the man said. I think there are some differences in the amount of meat on the casting, but pick the one with least damage in terms of bodged studs and sensors, cracking, corrosion on the face of the head.
Also, if you haven't done the swap yet, it'll be less disruptive to use the one from the new engine, as it won't stop you from using the car in the meantime (assuming the old engine still runs)
Let me know if you're interested in joining the cylinder heads buy...

yup that was what i was thinking to run my golf as it is and work on the 2 litre lump and get it all ready for a straight swap! aimimg for 170bhp and hopefully attainable with the head work, cams and exhaust system. i am going to rebulid the block with new piston rings, cam followers and a re-bore if needed.
I maybe interested in the group buy as i dont know of any local places where i can get work done. Thanks for your replys

even with the standard KR inlet cam you should see more than 170bhp providing you get it set up properly. an hour on a rolling road is all you need, IRO 50 quid.

i was thinking of driving up to Stealth as everyone seems to rave about them. abit of a trek for me as i'm based nr Southampton but i guess once it is done i'l reap the rewards!
Cheers

I've heard of a place called Autotechnik in Southampton... never used them myself. Stealth have a really good rep on kjet stuff.
You should be in 180bhp+ territory with that setup, depending on which cams you've got. the KR cams should get you close to 180 with a modded head and proper setup too.

i have heard good things about autotechnik and it's only up the road i will pop in and see what they have on offer, cheers
A:

I think ChrisMc on here had his 8v engine (in his previous car) done by them.

Hey,
Get down to Autotechnic Rich...
Your Golf sounds great - if it's anything like the Polo you did, it'll fly!
