I'd keep it in, may affect your idle when the PCV valve gets clogged with oil.

It really depends on what you're doing with the rest of the engine. I removed 4 out of 6 layers in my GTI to deal with blow-by from a worn engine being trashed big time. But I'm not leading the fumes into the intake so I could care less - just need to top up the oil more frequently
On a daily driver trying to keep it up to snuff I'd leave it in for sure.
