abf manifold vacume.

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

got a query here. the manifold has different vac hoses going to the ecu and the fuel pressure regulator, the other goes to the air box for the warm air flap.
i am assuming that vacume will effect economy a fair bit due to the things which the vacs go to. how is this possible if the ISV which will reduce the vac a lot?
my problem is that ive put a cone filter on and lost a fair bit of economy. nothing else has changed under the lid, but the vac for the warm air flap has no use now... ive attempted to plug the hole, but it may not be a perfect seal.
therefore, should the seal be perfect or should there be a small amount of leak? with a small amount of leak i imagine that it would be a bit lean at idle... or maybe due to the small drop in vac the fuel pressure reg may be making it rich
what do you think? ive gone down from 36mpg to about 32mpg over a tank with really similar driving.
A:

make sure the end is completly plug, any air leak is bad mmkay?
A:

i just rechecked the kit it came with, it comes with a bung/cover for the disused vac. i hope that with this restored i should get my heroic mpg back.
it has become especially cold lately, is this likely to have effected my mpg?

That should improve your MPG tbh, colder air is more dense, dense air contains more oxygen, more oxygen can be mixed with more fuel = bigger bang. So you need to give it less throttle for the same sized bang (and to hold a set speed)

ive noticed that it has been taking a longer time to warm up in the morning, hence the computer may be making it run richer for longer. this may be down to the cold temp outside and/or the cold air feed going from the fog light to where the air box used to be, making the underbonnet temps a lot lower.
i want my mpg back i think lol

It'll also be because it's colder outside, so your water/block/oil etc is all colder as well, plus you'll have your heater on hot now so that's taking more heat away from the water too. mpg is good though init
