Baffled sump???

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

recently upgraded to 2.0 16v
i have found that when going for a 'drive'
taking corners and roundabout quickly often causes the oil buzzer to go off
and then stop once back on a straight.
oil is new and so is oil pump.
is this just case of needing a baffled sump and whats the cheepest option??
thanks in advance
A:

What grade of oil are you running? My Mk2 2.0 16v gets chucked round corners with no problems. I'm running synta silver oil.
A:

same as...synta silver all the way.
oil is at bout half full....could it just need a little more?
A:

ive seen a couple on ebay recently
like this!
I would put one on anyway if i were you-better to be safe than sorry. my project will be getting one.
A:

you could make one yourself if you`re handy with a welder. its fairly simple, took me about 2 hrs to do mine, just make sure you leave enough of a gap at the bottom of the baffles so the oil can flow some. plus it costs next to bugger all to do it.

i tried to get hold of a baffled sump from jabbasport over the summer, they said that they were trying to order a number from bahn brenner in america. i will try them over the next couple of days to see if there is any as im still eager for one. good look

thanks in advance Did you fit the plastic baffle to the oil pick up on the pump ??

Interesting thread chaps...
Been thinking about getting one for my valver as the I think the sump nut is threaded - There is a constant bead of oil on the nut!
Would it be worthwhile fitting a windage tray as well - What does this actually do?

just helps even more with preventing the oil splashing about and draining back to the pump pickup.

Got issues with pressure switches or somat, i tracked my stock valver with no issues & many many more have tracked & even on slicks with no baffled sumps with no probs, the stock 16v plastic baffle on oil pump is a must tho.
However, has been lots of discussion on baffled sumps on here if you wanna go that route- use the search, some pics of mine are on here somewhere.
A:

guess its worth changes sensors over before i go down the route of changing sump really

Try filling the oil up to max! It will definatley help.
On the A series for example they say to overfill it slightly and there are no detrimental effects it just prevents starvation...

I'v fitted schrick baffled sump to my valver but didnt fit plastic pump clip on thingy.
Should i worry, or do i not need plastic part now schrick sump is on?
A:

you don't need the plastic baffle if you've got a baffled sump
