VR6 clutch juddering

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

My VR6 has had a judder when engaging the clutch for a while now. Pretty annoying when cold, but it settles down to a bearable level when it's warmed up for some reason.
Would a new clutch fix it, or could it be something more sinister?
A:

I've got a similar problem. I reckon it's a mis-aligned clutch plate to be honest, but don't quote me on that! It could be as sinister as a bit of the clutch having broken off but I'd have thought you would hear the peice flirting about inside the bell housing?!
A:

its the clutch plate sticking on the input shaft as you engage and disengage the clutch, a new clutch kit would cure it yes, just make sure you lube the splines on the clutch plate and input shaft
a6twk, misaligned clutch means you wouldnt be able to refit the gearbox, its aligned to allow the input shaft to slide through the clutch plate and locate in the flywheel
hope this helps

or it could be contamination of the clutch plate or loose clutch cover.
A:

Ah righty ho..........Cheers oak8vgti! Need a new clutch then! Joy oh ****ing joy!
A:

i have this too :(
like you say, mine happens when cold but goes away quite quickly.
the thing is, if i get clutch done there is a list of other bits that i "may as well" do at the same, so is gonna be pricey :(
A:

Sorry to hijack this thread but when talking about clutches, what would cause a thud type noise as the clutch bites in the lower gears (sometimes feels like some play is being taken up somewhere)? I also do get a bit of clutch judder sometiems.
Just had all the engine mounts replaced for G60 ones and it has made a big improvement but its still there.
Please help, its stopping me from driving the car like i want too
A:

Hmm, that's a bit weird to be honest. Have you had the gearbox mounts changed too? Silly question I know.....
How are the hanging points on your exhaust? Might be worth checking all of the bushes on the front wishbone - subframe area. Why not get a set of poly bushes? They're not stupdly expensive and they transform the car completely. Need to do this on my VR Golf to try and get rid of some of its sponginess.
A:

Cheers for the response. Its really annoying me now as i want to get rid of the problem asap, but i can't afford to keep changing bits and spending loads of cash. All the engine mounts are new G60 ones.
Im sure its got something to do with the clutch or cv's/driveshafts. The noise can be quite a bang if you bring the clutch up quick
Does anyone know what symptoms you might get if the clutch pressure plate was knackered? Can the spring fingers actually become stiff meaning the clutch is released suddenly causing a bang/thud? Or even if there could be so much play in the cv's that you get a bang as they take up the play?
Any help be most appreciated, i just want it be nice to drive, which at the moment its not

can the clutch stick to the input shaft to the extent that you can no longer disengage the clutch? my clutch at the moment cannot be disengaged, before then it was fine, it was a sudden screw up.
the clutch pedal is making its normal sounds and feels fine, ive even seen the piston moving nicely
