hi every1 i hope you can help me this is my 1st thread. i have a golf gti mk1 cc. 1986 and the cylinder head gasket is going and i was wondering if a mk 2 engine would fit or how much would it cost roughly to have my engine rebuilt. i live in the northumberland if any1 knows any1 up here who could do my work.

head gaskets pretty straight forward really
mk2 engine will fit !

It is difficult to predict how much it would cost, you will have to take it apart and check the internals before you know what needs to be replaced.

clock says 73000 miles but not realy sure. i dont have a garage that i now and trust do you know any one in northumberland that cud do my work as iam a joiner and i can only do small jobs on my car. thank
