I think somebody got one for their mk1 and it isnt actually 2.5' all the way through. Think they measured it at more like 2.2' or something. Trivial I know, but best to double check its 2.5' all the way through if thats what you are after.

Dont go too big with the exhaust unless yr power output warrants it on yr 8v.

well its got stage 2 head and a piper fast road cam kit and im in the process of fitting a set of twin dellorto 40's so i dont know what hp ill be looking at. the only other system im interested in is the ashley. does this jetex system come with a manifold?? what is the 2.5 system called?? because the one ive looked at is only 2''.

For power up to around 140/150bhp a 2" exhaust system is fine. I gained 5hp at the top end going from a 2" to a 2.5" system, but that was on a high reving engine producing over 185hp at the time, plus I lost some power in the low and mid-range.
Exhaust manifold's are bought seperate to exhaust systems.
