not to sure think i might have a problem with the idle on my car sounds ok when running but you can feel it when sitting at stand still, the only way i can explane it is its buddleing, and it idles at 500 rpm but doesnt bounce around ?

VR6's idle lumpy :) mine does it, is normal as far as i've been told, gives the car a slight shake/judder

i really don`t think a poor idle was how VW sent the cars from the factory ?
My VR idles perfectly so I must have one of the good ones then ?
TBH the only time it did idle poor was when coilpack needed to be replaced.

Mine idles sweet as a nut, smoothest idling car I've ever had!
Probably won't be like that after i've stuck the Schrick 268's in tho

You cant really tune a VR6. The ECU does everything. There must be a faulty component.
Is it an early spec car or late spec? If early dizzy or coilpack?
Even the distributor models have fixed distributors.

its not a really rough idle, just a slight burble/lump, its a V6 :)

iv had v6s b4 you right it is like thst but just thoght it was a bit low a 500 rpm

500rpm is low, should be 800-900

i dont know where to start really, dont know if im loosing power as well its fast dont get me wrong but iv never had one b4 so i havent got anything to compare

air leaks in the exahaust, inlet
dirty throttle body.
sort those, and it'll idle smoother, as pointed out, 500 is too low.

Mine was absolutely smooth as.
An incredible thing. Very, very hard to tell if there was a cylinder or even two not firing. With four plug leads off it would still run pretty well. as I say, quite incredible. Wasn't until it was down to one plug lead that it was reallt getting into touble!
If you have all six plug leads attached to a standard VR6 and it's not creamy smooth then its not right
