A&Q about 350Z
Q:
ive got this thing coming in the post. it has all the fixings to attach it to the car properly, so that should be no problem.
what i plan to do next is get some of this
150mm stuff (OD of the whole filter) plust a 150mm jubilee clip.
stick the filter in the ducting, seal it, then run the ducting to somewhere behind the bumper.
in theory that should be ok. anyone get any other points?
A:
are you then not relying on forward movement to get air into the filter, doubt the filter will suck as much air through the ducting when stationary
only a thought
A:
You wouldn't need any more when stationary unless you have some kind of overheating problem?

The standard airbox doesn't get air 'flowed' when stationary. No reason why it wouldn't work.
A:
Agree. Putting the filter in the ducting is an interesting idea actually. Effectively would work the same as the airbox.
Could just cleverly direct the ducting towards the engine side of the filter only so instead of drawing engine heat it is just drawing up air through the ducting. That will leave the other side unrestricted too.
I reckon your idea would make a great roar though.... interesting to see the outcome mate.
A:
Or remove an inner spot and fit mesh over to stop small children being sucked in.
