A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I think the problem is when they are new they are failrly quiet, but when they get older the baffles inside the silencers (which are not stainless) corrode, hence getting increasingly boomy with age. It still functions as an exhaust so i dont know where you stand warranty wise.
A:
sorted it.
ditched the magnex and put on a full ernst system from GSF. Bliss!
lovely and quiet normal driving, and sounds lovely when u give it a bit more (i think it's when the second butterfly opens in the throttle body?). the fit is spot on as well, lines up perfik!
GSF only do the ernst front and centre silencers now, but fortunately the back box i took off to fit the magnex poo was ernst anyway.
top job.

I had a magnex on an RS1800 a few years back and that resonated at a certain point in the rev range too, didn't find it very intrusive though, quite liked the sound I seem to remember. Was a bit of a boy racer back then though

i used to have the full magnex manifold and system on a mk2 valver. tbh i thought it was fine, nice at idle, but at full bore it sounded crisp! nice enough for my mates to hear me from about 5 miles away at 3am most nights when i finished work

Got any pics? Never seen an ernst.
Im assuming its mild and not stainless?
A:
looks like a standard one, but very well built and very chunky.
black back box (which i already had), and silver front and centre sections.
he showed me the cheaper one at GSF and it looks cack in comparison. spot welded everywhere and flimsy looking.
now i can drive my car again without ear defenders!
