right my mk1 has the wrong clocks in it so i have no idea where to rev it , have hit the limiter a few time (off my rev counter ) just wondering where it should be as i have bought a shift light ans would like to set it .

nope, they're nearer 6,700rpm, mainly due to the flat inlet cam as standard, my 2L pulls strongly to 7200 with a KR inlet cam and flowed head.

I have a similar setup to David and mine also pulls to over 7k rpm, not that I rev it that far generally
