1.8T nightmare

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

hi. first post, hope someone can help..
this is driving me mad.ive had my 2002 golf gti into my vw mechanics 3 times now. the turbo seems to be sticking(ie im getting no boost) and when idleing, the engine chokes and splutters and sounds awful. i got the car back from the garage yesterday, with good news...the recirculation pipe for the turbo needed replacing.that was yesterday, today i tried to take over a car on a tiny road,i change down, all feels well and then its like the turbo stoppes spinning and im stuck on the wrong side of the road going no where.i was suppost to be getting it remapped at the end of the month but the bloody things been in the garage so many times ive run out of money.ive had it through VAGCOM and the same faults seem to come up (recirculating valve for turbocharger, throttle valve pressure drop).anyway, any suggestions would be helpful but im really just ****ing and moaning because my car dont work!!
cheers anyway folks

If you are not getting any boost then the first thing I would be checking is the wastegate.

when idleing, the engine chokes and splutters and sounds awful
Clean the throttle body
Check n75 for boost failure, tho ecu code should occur.
A:

the dump valve is knackered (also known as an N75 valve)
A:

N75 valve is not the dump valve!!!! N75 is an electric solenoid. You mite have a faulty airflow meter, it doesn't always show a fault.Try unplugging it to see if this helps.

Had one the same caused by the boost press sensor, not a common reason tho, easily found but by connecting up diagnostic equipment and roadtesting the car

the n75 is the charge pressure controller(as identified by motorhead), and for that reason, many people refer to it as the wastgate, but not usually the dump valve granted.
Could well be the maf.....be interested to find out.

cheers for the advice folks. im taking it back once again to my vw garage on wednesday.i only have a limited amount of knowledge on the 1.8T engine and have done all i can, so if the vw specialists cant sort this problem on wednesday, i dont know what im gonna do.on a plus side i got my geman plates today!pity i cant actually drive the car.sucks!

is not insurmountable, just might take time.
be interesteed to know the outcome.

FINALLY i get my car back. been at the garage for 4 f*ckin days!turns out that it wasnt sustaining the connected boost due to 2valves in the turbo being buggered. on top of that the temp sender was also buggered which is why the idle was so poor.two separate problems.finally got it back and cant belive how different it geels and even sounds.i can trust my car to overtake again!appreciate everyones help.
cheers
