Q:
do the 13 row oil coolers have a thermostat on them??
not sure if it needs one or not, its going onto a 1.8 16v corrado..
any helps appreciated

The thermostat is generally in the sandwich plate not the actual oil cooler so you can buy a cooler of any size and a 'stat or non 'stat sandwich plate, fix them together to get the setup you require.

Not usually. The thermostat is most often part of the take-off block that goes on the filter mount. Or you can get remote ones that fit into the pipework. Take a look at the Mocal website:
