A&Q about 350Z
Q:
just wondering, if i remove the exhaust from the front silencer and put a straight throught exhaust will it loose performance?
A:
When you mean straight through do you mean an exhaust without any silencers? Or an exhaust that runs through the middle of the car?
Surely if your going for an exhaust without silencers or boxes it should improve flow and performance (slightly)
I may be wrong though.
A:
i mean an exhaust without any silincers. Im going to have a track exhaust and a normal everyday exhaust. the track on is literally going to be a straight through pipe from the downpipe out of the side infront of the wheel.
A:
Most tracks will have a limit to how loud your exhaust can be.
A:
do you think it would go over the track limit?
A:
if you didn't have and silencers you would go miles over the sound limit, think your only aloud under 98db dont quote me on that. + you would lose alot of preformance as the engine would not have any back pressure so the engine would only be any good once your at top speed and round in the revs on start off and cornering it would be slugish and every other car would **** on you.
hope this helps
A:
no straight through exhaus for me then lol. would i be ok getting rid of the middle silencer and just having a standard downpipe and scorpion back box?
A:
If your unsure mate just go for a reasonable stainless exhaust for road and track ie Jetex.
Im guessing your working to a budget?
A:
not really no. i have got a scorpion exhaust on there at the minute. had to remove one of the silencers because the baffle went in it and now the front silencer is starting to go as well. not happy about it to tell yout the truth. just wondered if i could do anything with the piece of exhaust pipe i have or if i had to replace the whole lot
A:
Thats not the first time ive heard of scorpion innards dying.
I'd do the whole lot bud.
