Hey people.
Have recently fitted audi 80 door handles to my mk2. Fabricated up the bits in the kit to get the mechanism working correctly.
The passenger door works brilliantly and you'd think it was factory. Even after adding an hours work to get it to open with the window down.
Problem is I connected up the drivers door one exaclty the same (I think) and closed the door to check the opperation and the bloody thing won't open again No matter which handle or lever I pull.
Luckily the door car is off so I can akwardly reach around inside. And yes I have tried many times to push the release lever from the inside the door many times.
For some weird reason if I pull the interior handle sharply the door locks it's self I'm starting to think the rods in the door might have somehow come tangled up.
I should be able to at least get the handle out of the door. But not sure if the door will open again.
Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
I don't want to have to enter and exit the car dukes or hazzard style.

Think the problem that your having maybe that the rod inside the door connected from the audi handle to the door lock is constantly pushing down the prong that opens the door therefore causing this problem..Try to slacken it off a little and see if that helps..

I think you might be right. It might be always slightly be pushing it down not allowing it to return properly.
