Is it GTI mk1 Golfs that have these brake balance valves or are they fitted to other Golfs/vw and are they interchangeable?
Mine failed the mot on a leaky one today.

Mk2 has them and so do early Mk3's aswell. I think iirc the later Mk3's with ABS do not have them.
I'm not honestly sure if they are interchangable accross the models.

Only the GTIs on mk1 model had them and they are not the same as the mk2 item, I don't have one at all on my mk1 and have had no problems yet with the back locking up prematurely, I have no interior in the back either just a battery at the very back.
