A&Q about 350Z
Q:
If for example i wanted to get some bolts etc to replace the highly corroded and rounded off ones i had, but only required say 4 of this type and 2 of this type (generalising here ), where would i go?
fastener suppliers seem to deal in hundreds! rather than single items...

Hi m8,
i can give a quote on single/multi packed anodised nuts/bolts/washers for use in non stressed area's.
We have titanium coming soon and more of the anodised stuff...
you can email me through the site any time.
Neil.
A:
Cheers Riley, I was thinking more of just direct replacements for the plated steel ones in small qty's.
A:
Ahhh,no worries m8...
Do you have a local tools and machines place?
Or maybe just direct from vw?
ps:i can provide the titanium, just dont have them on the site yet
Neil.

Thanks again Riley, but really i'm only trying to find a less expensive route than VAG for a few nuts and bolts (they always seem to charge a fortune for what is a standard application fastener). Not that worried about appearance or weight (titanium...mmmm).
What did you mean by local tools and machine place?
A:
you want a tool hire place or a small garage if your only after a few if your always working on your car order a selection box of asssorted nuts and bolts from screwfix or somewhere like that nuts and bolts are always useful

What bolts are you replacing? Any good engineers supplies (try yell.com) will sell you one of anything and should have a good range - take samples or know exactly what you want. If any of the bolts are suspension related or holding the engine in go to VW. I got new front strut bottom bolts for £1.50 each and VW use 10.9 tensile strength bolts which are hard to find elsewhere.

Try screwfix or halfords
Screwfix are probably Probably cheaper than halfrauds though.
A:
there should be a harware/fastener shop in most towns...loads around here
theyre happy to sell you single bits n bobs and often have stainless versions too
A:
Look in your yellow pages for one/some of the following:
Engineering supplies
Engineering merchant
Industrial fasteners & fixings
etc etc
Bear in mind a lot of them operate of pretty extortionate margins to Joe public, industrial account customers usually get pretty healthy discount - got a mate who works somewhere with an account? Be nice to them.
I'd avoid screwfix for anything anywhere critical, a lot of their cheaper stuff isn't graded for strength..
A:
screw fix do a nice stainless steel A4 Grade(acid proof) a slack handfull of metric sizes in a plastic tray, you will pay a lil bit more per nut, but its worth it.
