Does anyone know if or where you can buy a spray or paint which can tint bulbs orange but staying transparant? I want to use the side bulb holders used on Mk2 golfs as indicators, but the only type of bulb you can use with them are clear and I need them to be orange. I've tried spraying them with a very light coat of orange paint, which does flash orange, but I think they reduced the brightness of them.

Which bulbs do you mean exactly and what bulb holders are you using?
If you are using sidelight bulbs which are known as capless 501, you can get these in an orange bulb and you can also get them in a silver bulb which flashes orange.
Can you possibly get a picture of the bulb and i will try and hep you out

i just used glass paint from a craft shop...

Silvatec make bulbs which are silver in colour but flash orange (silver is sprayed over the orange colour and they look clear thru a light lense) Can be bought cheaply on the net\ebay

Don't bother doing that. Just spray 'em yourself.
