Hi folks,
Easy question I hope - just after someone who's had some experience of this.
Rear silencer is rusty and has started to blow. I've never replaced one which is a friction fit before (only flange fit). Do I stand a hope in hell of getting the old rear section off the centre section? Centre section is fine and I'd rather not replace it just for the sake of it (especially since it looks like I'd get into replacing a load of peripheral bits too).

Yea theres hope, wd40 and a mallet, it will come off in the end.

it may well be a struggle....if you can get at it with a angle grinder try grinding away the pipe on the rear box
i prefer to no hammer em too much incase you damage something else

loads of wiggling, loads of twisting, a a ***** load of malleting it'll come off eventually

use a rubber mallet so you dont damage anything else if you miss....
