Best way to remove laquer from polished rims?

Any tips on removing the laquer on polished rims? Its started peeling in some places, so I want to remove all of it and polish them up.

Ive had brake fluid slowly leaking on my rear wheel, Iv changed the cylinder, but its made the laquer go a yellow sort of colour

Its just paint stripper available from any DIY place.

I've just done up a set of wheels for my girlfriends car. to remove the lacquer i used emery and scotchbrite. and then polished them up with autosol. it takes ages to get a good finish but its well worth it.
the only trouble is you've got to polish them up regurarly to keep them good.

The nitromors worked a treat. Managed to remove all the laquer no problem and didn't mark the metal at all. Just got to rub them all down and polish them up.
