Does anyone have a ballpark figure that firms charge for defeating the inbuilt immobilisers in ECU's. Can any type be defeated - thinking about an ABF conversion into my mk2 Golf and know the immobiliser will be a problem.

I had the same problem when I fitted a 95 2.0l GTI engine to my Mark1 Cabriolet. I found the cheapest way around it was to get from a breakers a matching ECU, chipped key and barrel.
