I recall a place in Brentwood that specialises in auto electric, Toad alarms and aircooled VWs.
not sure howfar it is from Colchester, probably loads, but it might be worth a chat, they seemed friendly when I was there.

It broke months ago when for no apparent reason the alarm sounded. I could not turn it off using the controller but i could still start and drive it !!!???
I managed to drive 2 miles with the alarm sounding and the 4ways flashing it was a pretty funny sight! Someone even called the police with my reg as they thought it was nicked, LOL !!
Anyway, it eventually stopped but the alarm went off again 2 or 3 times more before it eventually stopped. Next day it was as if the siren had packed up, the alarm key fob still locks the doors and opens the boot ect and the imobliser still works but there is no noise from the siren.

Sounds like power to the siren has been disconnected as it is battery back up it will go off
and will not see alarm commands to turn of as it thinks wires have been cut
but the indicators flashing has lost me
so now siren has lost battery backup power and alarm cannot charge ?
Have you had any work done recently to your car

Thanks Ian, that sounds like it could be the problem, i will have a look at the wiring to the siren and see if anything is loose or corroded. I have had no work done to the electrics or anything before it happened.
If it has lost battery backup and hasnt been charged for a while, will i need a new unit or will this one need reprogramed ?
Thanks for your help.
Steve.
