weird question

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I am using the clio cup 172 as the insparation for my lightweight ibiza , im trying to up the power to weight ratio binned the spare and tools and carpet in boot but these cars also have lighter rear seats does anyone have any ideas on how to lighten the rear seat ive taken off the headrests so far and wondered if the backs come off to remove material from them its just abit of fun really will probably end up stripping it out more like no rear seats and then weighing the car , or i could buy a clio cup 172 instaed not really a reanault fan , all ideas and suggestions welscome .........
A:

Lay the seats flat.
Apparently that makes all the difference.
A:

re-trim them in a 'light' colour !
A:

i might just strip them out tbh and get some sparco buckets for the front ,
A:

you could always strip out the rear bench and use a clear blow up sofa?
A:

Ditch the seats, headliner, sound deadening, door cards, rear wiper + motor and rear seatbelts.
Look at it this way, it rules you out of being the designated driver saving more money in petrol

im sure once you get one, the conversion will be effortless!
A:

Loose any parts of the dash or centre console you dont need, floor carpets, rear seats & belts
A:

Are the clio 172's really that special? Any chance up against a standard valver?
A:

no they aint that special just its basically a pure drivers car no abs traction control ect to spoil the fun they have no spare or tools either and possibly keep fit windows just thought i could make mine more fun by stripping it out abit.
Phil , is yours easy to live with on a daily basis i might keep the carpet and headling tbh but everything else can go even thought of having just a drivers seat but if i pull this could be abit arkward.
A:

I have a 172 cup and I can honestly say it's the best car I have ever driven, pure driver feedback,handling,braking,performance............. ..and as someone asked compared to a standard valver it's a fair bit quicker in all aspects, 0-60 6.7 138 top whack. 170/ton ratio.

sounds plausible esp when
a 15yr old valver isnt going to be producing 139hp anymore.

When I stripped it I had a company car and now Im down to just the golf so things have slowly been making their way back into the car. Rear door cards are back in and I did put the floor carpet back in a few weeks back to mute the sound of the exhaust, but other than that it's fine to live with.
I probably would have put the seats back in by now as I wont be on track til next year but I cant get the rear seatbelts to budge, they're stuck in! Plus I never have any more than one other passenger in the car.
A:

IS IT RELIABLE THOUGH? I met a bloke who once who had said car as well as an elise and he reckins its as quick round the track did say it was exciting in th wet though .
A:

hmmm found some seats on ebay last night omp buckets they were at 110 but will go up practically new as well . also a set of gaz coilovers at 90 only 3 months old looked like new. the plot thickens .....
