Alloy Wheel with Kerb damage

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hi, there people, i want to know weather you can straighten a Alloy wheel which has had some Kerb damage which part of the alloy has actully come out, not split broken, but previous owner must have hit the kerb pretty hard, does anyone know weather i can get these refurbed anybody know of a good one near Buckinghamshire, High Wycombe and decent priced, ??? the tyre is still in good nick too, just come out of shape abit,
A:

If the wheel is buckled it shouldn't be used really. Any photos?
If its a dink/chunk missing, it can be refurbed. There are DIY kits from Halfords, or you can get pros to do them, prob costing between £50-100.

I was told it was buckled, but the dent is not really big, he hit the kerb and is a little out of place, ive taken it too halfords and there gonna let me know, but i was told if i got a G Clamp, that might do the job, ?!?!?! so might get it checked out , thanks
A:

dont take it to Halfords for christ sake, bunch of bloody animals!
try Dave @ shadow wheels in Reading, he'll put it back into shape for you!

I agree - Halfords are disgraceful , especially if you took it to the Wycombe one!
There is a place in Herts (just by M1/M25 junction) that is highly recommended - but you would need to give them 2 days to do the job propperly.
What you driving mate? Might have seen you around? Drop us a PM or something dude.

Let me know if thats repairable, or better still let me know if you have one stashed in the garage you want to get rid of, Wolfrace Quantums, just the alloy as the tyre is still good
A:

easy to repair mate, it'll need refurbishing after the repair though.

Ok thanks ive given the alloy to a friend, whos friend is gonna have a look at it, hopefully today, but i think he may just repair it and refurb it stright if the guy says its ok, hopefully it wont cost too much, if this cant refurb it, dont suppose you want to do it, lol guess your not nearby tho,
A:

it'll need heating up, shaping then welding, if welded properly it will be just as stong as any other part of the wheel, if it isnt welded properly you could be in for a nasty surprise if you knock it again! I use a courior for collecting and delivering wheels, so i cna cover more than just cornwall, but for one wheel it'd be cheaper for you to take it to Reading.
I really do suggest getting it done properly!

Thanks, yea, il see what the verdict is when this guy rings back, thanks for all your help anyway, this place in reading what is it called just out of intrest ? one place has told me they can do it it will cost £80 quid, and sometimes can crack in the process but i dont have the money to replace the one or even the spend £80 quid to refurb it, its got a good tyre on it however, so i got a fare deal of the bloke i brought it from got a Dunlop SP Sport with plenty of thread so really i want to get it done and get it onto the car asap, 15 inch alloys are just too small, ! lol
A:

Shadow wheels in Reading. they will charge you alot less than you have been quoted, although if that inclusds a refurb its a pretty fair price.
Indeed it may crack whilst shaping it back, if it does its essential its welded properly.
If you were closer to me id have done it no worries

Cheers, there are a number of places near High Wycombe that do this sort of thing, but i think ill wait for the verdict from the other guy if not ill try elsewhere, but thanks !! much appreciated !
