A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I'm undecided as to wether I should take off my RX2's for the winter.
Will stuff like grit etc damage them at all? I can't be bothered cleaning them every other day!!
A:
Wether they are painted/polished/laquered etc...give then a thorough washing, and then a polish to remove any slight sticky sh|t,any of the usual stuff will do.
And then finish off with a good wheel wax.
If you do the above, you will still have to wash them...but not as often and not as intensely.

just changed mine yesterday.took the 18,s off the a3 and put the factory 15,s on with studded tires.i wax them with normal autoglym everytime i wax the car, salt and sh"# just wash away whenever i hose the car down.extra half hour waxing but worth it in my humble opinion
A:
I was going to use Autoglym too, what advantages does a wheel wax offer over normal bodywork polish?
A:
just took my borbet A's off this morning. going to give them a good clean and polish and put em in the atic till next summer. my car looks gash now though with mingin tsw thingys on it.

A polish normally contains some sort of abrasive and/or cleaning agents in preperation for wax.
A wax contains resins, oils etc...and most wheel waxes contain ptfe to help aid a non stick surface,so brake dust and wotnot dosn't ingrain itself and is easier to wash off.
You will get better results using polish>wax rather than just a wax.

Think yourself lucky!!!
At least you've only got the tsw's for winter use...
Ive got mine all year round until i can afford some decent wheels!!
A:
I'm a bit paranoid about mine even in the summer, so the're getting taken off, washed, polished and waxed this week sometime.
Then it's on with the winter wheels.
Blackpool doesn't seem to believe in gritting roads either.
Which is a good thing, but not if you're about to hit a tree.
A:
Just in the process of sourcing some winter wheels. My estorils are getting harder and harder to clean and a few scratches showing up now. Just cleaned the whole car. Used Autoglym metal polish on the wheels as they are diamond cut and polished.

Personally, I'll be taking my split rims off in the next week or so. Car will look awful on the original 15's but I'd rather look a bit naff that than ruin £100's worth of show wheels!
