A&Q about 350Z
Q:

how much are the sachs clutches??? any benifits from std clutches, would it warent it on a nr std 16v k-jet?
A:

which clutch are you asking about?? sachs do standard clutches ??
A:

a sachs
A:

a sachs what? normal clutch or uprated clutch
A:

dude sachs make the original equipment clutches anyway that come as standard on it new. you've seen mine ain't ya? i paid 70 boyos for a sachs clutch kit. thats a standard one. sport ones cost near or over 200. look in a mag.
A:

Try LuK clutches. Better
A:

LuK, Sach, Valeo are all used as OE spec clutches
A:

ahh rite never new that, and no chomper i aint seen your clutch, must come and see, think its time 4 a new un
A:

Check out , they stock sachs clutch kits. Main advantage of a Sachs kit is it comes with EVERYTHING, including new pressure plate bolts and spline grease. With a LUK you just get the friction disc & pressure plate!
A:

Luk are Crap!! Fitted a Luk clutch on my KR 16v a few years back and imo it isnt worth it, they are rubbish!! Stick with Sachs, think i paid around £180 for a uprated one for my KR 16v, works really well and very responsive!!
A:

What about Sachs Sporting, This is a 25% uprated version i've just been quoted £101+Vat

anyway, LuK splines are greased from factory
A:

Yeah, but I don't think I'd trust grease on a part thats been sat on a shelf for god knows how long. You still need 6 pressure plate bolts too

Im not 100% sure but i think the Luk kit comes with the pressure plate bolts, but id rathergo for Sachs its a good kit even with a standard one!!

B & B VW Maidstone.

Mullered a Luk clutch a good few years ago and didn't do anything to cause it.
Sachs ever since, until Helix came along...

What are Helix like in comparison with Sachs??
A:

Really only worth it for track days or for running high power tbh - on the edge of the topic really.
Helix actually use an Sachs high clamp pressure plate for their 020 stuff.
A:

I killed a sachs clutch with just 160bhp so use a helix organic motorsport version now:

A:

Oe or Sporting sachs clutch? I've been using a standard Sachs clutch for two years sprinting and I've just won the ASEMC Modified category outright so i'm not exactly light with it.
A:

Interesting thread. I'm pretty sure I'll be investing in a new clutch come Jan.
Im probably going to get the standard sachs clutch from AVS as its a very very reasonable price:
1.8 16v Sachs 3000.381.001 £69.50
A:

I can recommend it, I used one in my MK2 8v with a 2.0 bottom end and touch wood its been absolutly fine since the 22nd May. Not exactly running massive power though
