Ibiza clutch cable mechanism, how different from hydraulic set up?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Just trying to figure out if i've done something wrong on my engine conversion and just want some re-assurance really
As in my sig, i have an ABF from a mk3 golf fitted with a Seat ibiza ABF 16v gearbox. Ive been having a problem for ages now that i really want sorted as in the below link
Now i know the ibiza used the cable clutch system and the golfs used the hydraulic set up. Apart from the external gearbox parts for this system (slave cylinder instead of cable lever) is there anything inside the box/bellhousing that i should have changed or is different? Can't imagine it being so as both boxes bolt to the same engine
I think the problems got to be to do with the clutch. Only happens at the clutch bite point and not any other time, plus i sometimes get the impression that the clutch is either engaged or not (like it sticks then suddenly releases just as it bites)
ANy help would be great

Right, as far as i can see there is no differences between VW and seat 02A boxes apart from the external clutch operating parts. I have just found out one thing that could relate to my problem so don't know if anyone knows more than me on this subject....
Just looked at AVS website and i see they have 2 clutches listed for the mk3 golf 2L 16v engine, one for 92-94 cars and another for 95 on. For the seat cupra 16v, they have only one listed, which is the same kit as the one for the 95 on golfs. Now the engine i have is from a 94 car and the box being an Ibiza one is for cars after 95, so by using the earlier clutch set with the later box, could that be part of the problem im gettin?
