New clutch at stealth

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I booked in my valver at Stealth today for a new clutch. The guy on the phone suggested that they might put a new vr6 clutch in or something, that they are harder wearing. Anyone got any experiences with having a clutch fitted at stealth?? Ive always heard good things about them, just want peace of mind.

Can anyone suggest other stuff that i should have changed at the same time while the gearbox is off???

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

lightened flywheel
So im going to need to source a lightened flywheel before hand and get them to swap it over?? Any suggestions where to get one from??

Also with the box being off im guessing new gearbox oil will be needed, what oil is the best you can get, just want to smooth the gearchanges a bit more.

I have been informed by many that when golfs are involved Vince @ Stealth = guru.
I'm heading up the M40 in the new year for clutch, lightened & balanced fly wheel, rr tune, and wur mod.

Vince is a very nice and knowledgable guy, I have dealt with him many times and he is always helpful.

thats reassuring! been looking into the lightened and balanced flywheel option but ive read that you can loose torque in doing so. I use the car for fast road use, so dont really want to loose any torque!! Is it worth sacrificing the torque to help the car rev a little easier??
A:

I've been told its not a noticable loss when driving the car.

Would vince be able to source and supply the lightened and balanced flywheel??? Might give him a ring in the morning and see what he can arrange/suggest. Havent done any mods to the car as of yet, but this might be a good start!

I'd go for a lightened flywheel too, I fitted one to mine recently when swapping the 'box (which was leaking onto the clutch!) and it makes the car rev much more freely. I would say you loose a tiny bit of very low down torque, literally from idle to 1500rpm or something so it's slightly easier to stall the car but nothing you'd notice and you soon get used to it and the improvement from there up the rev range is really noticeable.
Get the input shaft seal, pushrod seal and pushrod bush changed too while the 'box is off to prevent unwanted oil leaks in future.
I have a spare standard 020 flywheel from a 16v Mk2 if you want it to get lightened assuming it'll fit your car, is it rod change? PM me if it's any use

Hotgolf can do you a lightened flywheel. Just get a new input shaft seal and a crankshaft oil seal. Ohh and new bolts for you clutch/flywheel.
