A&Q about 350Z

Clutch in/out makes no difference, i jacked it up today and looked for play in the CV joints, they seemed (on rough inspection) OK but when i turned the wheels there was a light knocking from inside the gearbox. Any ideas? Terminal? cars done 250K BTW.

EDIT: Acceleration/decelertion makes no difference.
