20VT conversion which clutch cable?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I've got a mk2 golf with a Audi TT 225 engine, I believe its a g60 box.
The clutch cable needs replacing, but I'm not 100% what cable it is. I was told it was a polo cable, but the cable I was given was half the length!
What you guys using?
A:

if its been coverted to cable with the seat stuff you can try a seat ibiza 16v cable but apparently you may be able to use a 1300cc golf cable.
A:

not sure how its been converted to be honest. Phillip Walker from PVW Motorsport did it, as it was his car.
Any ideas what year the ibiza would be?

Yep, Mk2 1300 cable will do it, had to replace mine last week.

A:

how have you secured the cable in the engine bay? I discovered mine was cable tied to the brakepipes, and when you press the clutch peddle the pipes were moving a good inch. Not good!
I thought that it would be a corrado cable? as the box is a corrado one, but they don't have anything listed for any corrado, are they all hyrdolic?
i just wanna get back in the old girl, she been sitting in my garage for 3 months.

Cable tied to the brake pipes
usually cable change boxes are hydraulic apart from some
A:

is that the clutch cable you've got?

A:

yea you can use a mk2 Golf 1300 clutch cable (about £20 cheaper than a Seat one!).
A:

my cable is different to the one shown, it doesn't have the round bit on the gearbox.
A:

possibly the person who originally built it used a 1300 golf one as iirc it doesn't have one either. I can check mine tomorrow if that helps?

My cars been religated to the driveway
A:

right got the cable this morning, was bidding on one on ebay but got out bidded by 1p, missed out a a 5 quid bargin.
how does the clutch mechanism actually work? there's a bronze arm bit that the cable goes through and then there two nuts.
when I press the clutch peddle does that arm move?
A:

you'll need some sort of stop for the end with nuts on it, I guess you haven't got one as it was cable tied to the brake pipes
