best gearbox to use

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

im fitting a 2ltr agg bottom end to my mk 2 and was wondering whats the best gearbox arrangement to use
cheers
A:

You can use all the old gearbox, clutch & flywheel from your old engine no bother. Ideally you'll want to fit a new clutch thought, and its a good idea to replace the input shaft seal & pushrod brass bush & seal.
A:

thats what i'd do to plus you stay rod change much nicer than cable

thanks fellas,
having said this tho my g'box is a tad old and tired having done 160k more or less
would you recommend a reconditioned one?

I'd try an oil change and fit a gearshift repair kit first!
I'm still using my original g'box (300k ish..) in my MK2 2.0 8v without any problems.

I converted to a CTM 02a cable change and the shift feel isn't THAT bad. I guess that a properly set up rod change is alway going to feel better, but it seems to be getting harder to find decent (read cheap) gearboxes to attach you rods to.
I would look at the economics of both before jumping one way or the other.
the + point for the 02a seems to be that they are much stronger.
