Removing only the Relay Shaft on a MK2?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Hi guys,
Sorry for the new thread on this popular subject, I've been searching for a while, but the only threads I can find are for a complete linkage strip-down and refurb...
The bushing at the top of my Relay shaft has totally gone awol, as has the rubber casing around the ball that sits in the cup thingy. I've ordered a new relay-shaft repair kit from MissingLinkz, but will need to remove the relay shaft to fit it.
The other bushings are all pretty good, but seem brittle so I don't want to interfere with anything else really! How can I just take the Relay shaft out?
I can easily get under the car if it's going to help.
Cheers!
Tim.

Its not easy in situ because theres that clip at the bottom of the shaft, getting it off isn't easy from above or below!
TBH if your other bushings seem brittle, replace them all! Kit is only like £5 from GSF, stop being tight

your not doing your self any favours leaving the others , spend a few more £ and do the whole job once ...done then innit

Can I hijack please...
I've had the ball and housing done a few weeks back and the rest of the bushes done twice now and still no complete fix.
Rolled the sleaves up last week and did a temp fix with chemical metal to immitate the bush over the notched nylon ball and my pops is getting me a PTFE bush made up at a local engineering works so all I need to do is install the new bush on the relay shaft.
So as per post title, how do I remove just the relay shaft? Top 13mm nut lets you get at the bush but how is it secured at the bottom?
A:

theres a c clip, and as i said its a sod to remove in situ
Check out my gear linkage repair FAQ and it shows all the linkage parts in detail and you can get an idea of what you need to do to remove the relay shaft on its own.

I put new bushes in my linkage yesterday. Look like the rela shaft is tricky to get out alone because of the clip on the bottom - might be possible with a ramp though.
Having said that it would be easier just to take the lot off, doesn't take long, undo the pinch bolt and 3 bolts holding the plate thing on, then you can get it off.

Damn! I was hoping I could sneak out the Relay shaft on it's own, but looks like the circlip is going to be a pain!
I might as well get the other bushes on order then and head off to the most excellent FAQ - Thanks for the advice!

I've had my relay shaft off, on its own three times over the last few weeks and it was a doddle. I'd be surprised if it took 5 mins maximum each time. It's certainly easier if you jack the car up and access the circlip from underneath (circlips pliers do help) but after that there's only the 13mm nut on top, then it's just a little bit of wiggling up out of the lower bush of the shaft pair, then down and off and Bob's yer uncle!
