A&Q about 350Z
Q:
anyone know the diffrence (if any) between the quaife and peloquin ATB diffs?
anyone running a peloquin?
i hav found a place in the US that will do a Peloquin for $850 delivered which is about £450 is this a good price?
A:
Sounds like a good price - I think Motorhead paid roughly that recently.
Re: the Quaife & P/quin as one & the same, bearing in mind 02A diffs are different to 02J due to output flanges.
Peloquin come with crownwheel bolt kit, and diff bearings also, which Quaife put on top.
A:
I read on this forum a while ago that Quaife were threatening to prosecute anyone retailing Peloquins in the UK / EU. That and other info gleaned from cruisin' the forum suggests that they are quite similar........
A:
No one retails Peloquins in the UK tho...
A:
'cos, if they try, then quaife will prosecu.....
oh never mind
BTW have you got one in the gravel car?

The ? No, just an open diff - doesn't need an LSD for what we're doing - more basic loose surface skills. And it wouldn't do much because of the way ATBs work (needs both wheels to have grip in order work - we'd need to be a plate diff really to go that route).
A:
ordered a peloquin for £466 and matey marked it up as beeing worth $100!
A:
did I ever mention what I thought of quafe customer service and products?
A:
i wanted a dirt box from quaife saw one in a mag called them and got the sorry we dont make it never have or will , ok i said in that case f*** you they would not even try and get a supervisor or anything to help
to$$ers
A:
has anyone had experience with a gripper plate diff. i hear the quaife can be trouble some

much as I do not like Quaife as a company, their ATB diff has been 100% reliable (unlike their gear sets)
plate diff is something different.. Actual limited slip diff unlike ATB from quaife
KAZ is another make.
A:
Quaife have a UK patent on the ATB, but they didn't take it out in the US, hence why Peloquin can't sell in the UK.
You can import, and they do work out about £450, but you will have to pay import on that if you buy from a company in the US.
Different if you have a friend over there who can send it on and mark down the value so you pay lees or no duty.
I've bought 11 from Peloquin so far!
PM me if you would like one.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a retailer, and thus I am not selling these diffs, but I can provide a SERVICE to obtain the should anyone wish to purchase one from Peloquin.
A:
Aslo, would just like to add that I bought a Pelo in the first place because of the attitude of Quaife......and they displayed more of the same at Autosport, 2 years running.
So what did I go and do?....bought a quaife box......durrr.

I have got one of 'em

i bought it form and he marked it up as being worth $100 which i thought was good of him.
A:
It's a nice bit of kit, shame to hide it up in the 'box.
A:
I know of one Peloquin which was supplied with weaker than they should have been bolts... which sheared and eat the case. 1.8T MK4 Golf.
Maybe just a batch thing, but Gary Peloquin sorted out the guy covering costs which was good.
Customer Service and Quaife dont go hand in hand usually.
A:
Gary's customer service is impeccable.
When I bought my first one (which he made as a special order) he even rang me on my mobile (yes, from the US) to let me know it was ready and had been dispatched.
He also helped out loads when there was some problems with fitting it, onthe phone to Stealth and even offering to supply replacement seals and stuff, even though it turned out it wasn't his problem. When I discovered what was wrong I had to own up and tell him the score, I couldn't let him pat for rework when the issue wasn't his fault.
A:
he does sound good in the service dept. MrsB Lupo runs peoloquin.
just one note... although I have run 2 x 02A boxes (both with diff's) the diff's they needed were 02J ones as bolt in drive flanges... and the diffs are different.. SO if asking for 02A check your drive flanges first for knock in or bolt in before you order...
Public Service Announcement over.

i supplied the box code for this very reason.
A:
mine was 02A CDA for ref.

Kenn, was that £466 delivered to the Uk then?
Only prob with marking them down is if they get damaged in transport. I know of a guy ordered a scoobie engine for like $6000 and it was marked as being £1000 and they dropeed the crate!!! all he could claim was $1000
A:
yep £466 or $850 delivered comes with fitting kit as well. he takes pay pal too which makes things easy. hopfully he packed it up well. will just have to suck it and see wether it gets hear in one peice and how much extra i will have to pay.
A:
cool, could you let me know if you end up paying more, i deffo need one!!
A:
looks like a bargain to buy from the states then,
got to know quaife quite well when i did my stint in motorsport, his lad was racing (won it in fact!) in the same series i was working in. we sent them a lot of gear boxes
