Hi, just wondering if i should be able to rock the diff i.e. wiggle it. Car is a mk2 16valver. If i should not what can i do to fix it.

rock the diff as in waggle the driveshafts?
diff bearings knackered if so
if rocking as in rotating wheel fwd & back they will always have some slack in crownwheel/pinion

If i grab both drive cups i can rock the diff.
