20vt What parts do i need?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I have a 20vt S3 engine to go in my Mk2 golf, but no gearbox.
I've managed to find a Mk4 golf 20vt through a friend of a friend. All the front panels have been removed but the engine bay is pretty much complete (all i can see that's missing is the throttle body and front brake calipers).
I don't know any of the codes for the engine or gearbox as it was too dark to see but i did see a cable to where the throttle body used to sit, so i'm guessing it's an earlier engine.
As this gearbox is going into my Mk2 golf, do I just need the gearbox or is there any other parts that will be worth taking that will help with the swap?
A:

If you're looking for a simple install, then I'd go for and an earlier 02A cable change gearbox out of a Corrado, Golf G60, Passat 35i or a Mk3 Golf GTi 16v.
The Mk4 box will bolt straight up to the engine, but you'll have the hassle of fitting a new gearbox mount and sourcing some custom length driveshafts. Although, you could fit the Mk4 Shifter/cables and the tower (on/in the gearbox) which will tighten up the change a lot.
What else you need depends on what engine management you are planning to run....

Thanks Seizure.
I'm looking to use a garret GT2871 turbo on this engine on a aftermarket ecu (hoping for about 350bhp)
I'm making a cable change shifter at the moment, so that bit is not really a problem.(see my post )
As part of the upgrade I was looking at getting a peloquin diff from Bildon Motorsport and there now advertising custom .
Don't think the price is to bad with the exchange rate at the moment (even with the core charge).
At the moment the only thing left on the shell is the rear axle and wheels as it's waiting for a weld in roll cage, then a re-spray then I have to make a load of carbon fiber panels, and the list goes on and on and on........So i'll just add the "fitting the engine and gearbox" to the list of things to do!

I would factor in money for uprated internals for your engine. I am running a GT2871R - and it bent my no.1 con rod.
A:

Definitely going to up rate the rods, not sure which way to go yet though as I’m looking at the race spec 2litre stroker kit from eurospec that includes a forged and knife edged crankshaft, forged H section rods and up rated pistons and new bearings for about £1500,
A:

Thats not a bad price if it includes all that.
A:

That's what i thought. Check it out

I got pauter rods, je pistons and a raceware head stud kit for 1k 1.8t crankshafts are all forged though. Although the full race knife edged crankshaft looks good!

Eh? What hassle? I just used a Corrado G60 mount bracket and the standard Mk2 mount and it bolted straight in. I changed the inner drive flanges for 100mm ones and bolted the 8v shafts to the them. The shifter took all of an hour to fit (bit of metal cutting and bending) and there you go brand new 02J gearbox with a really nice feeling change to it.
Done 5,500 miles since July including 2 'Ring trips and it's still perfect.
A:

Mr vwboff, you wouldn't happen to have the part number for that bracket, would you?
A:

I wasn't aware you could do that VWBoff. Is yours a 5 or 6 speed box?
A:

I'll have a look to see if I can read the No for you. It's an 02J 5 speed 'box from a 2001 Mk4 GTI. IMHO there's no point in fitting a 6 speed for all the hassle and work, all that for an extra gear?
