Do any of you guys use an aquamist system to fuel the 5th injector(MF2)..........i have one installed on my car but am not the best with instruction manuals..............can you give me any helpful tips, experiences or advice....and please don't just point me to the website.........they only give you the good.....not necessarily the reality.

Have Auqamist on my 1.8t in a Mk2. Was peasy to fit. What info do you need. I found I lost about 15 horses by using it so added some methanol with the water aswell and everything is now cool (quite literally)!

Interesting you actually LOST power with it! why do think that was? where have you plumbed it in? after the intercooler?
Silly question also but where do you get the methonol from? i intend to use it in my charge cooler set up but not sure where to buy some

Lost power because you are adding water to the combustion chamber which kills the power. Tested this on a rolling road. Adding methanol 50/50 put back the power loss but also added a bit more torque across a wider rev range

Got methanol from a drag race team in Newbury and plumbed it in at the exit of the intercooler as per Aquamist instructions

You are told to use screenwash because that can be methanol based and also the fact that the screen wash bottle is a very handy place to use as a water store. Some screen wash is ethanol based and not recommended by Aquamist. Use pure methanol and mix it to whatever concentration you want. Is also safe to use as screenwash and smells of blackcurrent!

4. Why methanol?
Methanol is a high octane fuel that is extremely resistant to detonation with an excellent cost/benefit ratio. ($1.50 - $2.00 per gallon.) Its high latent heat of vaporization also makes it an excellent air charge cooler which means a denser mixture and more horsepower. Because of these facts, it is a better anti-detonant than ethanol or iso-propanol although they will work in a pinch. It has however only about 60% of the energy content of gasoline by volume so about twice as much is used to make similar power if used as a straight fuel. It is extremely toxic and should be handled with rubber gloves in well ventilated areas only. Care should be taken to avoid skin contact.

Are any of you guys using it to run a fifth fuel injector.............i'm guessing you're all talking about adding methanol to your water reservoir?

Hi Roadhog,
I am planning to use MF2 to run two more fuel injectors. I don't know how this will work yet, but I'm sure it will work until i'm proved otherwise.
Just use vw's cold start valves as extra injectors. In theory you can fit them in lots of places on the aluminum intake with a little machining.
