The beginning of a 16V G60.

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

This weekend I collected my block and head, plus many other bits, from the machine shop. I've been waiting weeks for these!
First of all, the KR head that has been rebuilt. This is a head that's had some gas flowing work done to it but it wasn't very tidy (some of you may remember my pictures of it that I posted ages ago). Well, they tidied up the flowing work, and it looks much nicer.
The crank has been lightened and ARP connecting rod fasteners fitted.
The block has been overbored and within it sit some custom forged pistons I specified from JE. Displacement is 1870cc, with compression ratio of 8.5:1.
G60 flywheel has been lightened. All components were balanced together, including the BBM crank pulley.
Um... there you go. A block and head. Not that exciting really
Cheers

Looking good
You need to make a plate up to block off the huge breather opening (the rear G support bracket bolts over it), you also need to block off the 2nd breater hole in the block and use the vented oil filler. No one mentioned this in all the stuff i`ve read so I presume they`re all running with no rear support bracket
A:

I got the impression that people are running them without the rear charger support bracket, too. I thought that this would be okay to do, but since it is possible to block that breather off and use the BBM supplied filler cap thing, maybe that's the way to go. I haven't got a rear charger support bracket but no doubt can find one on German eBay.
A:

limited's did'nt have the rear support. just the tube with the crushed ends that corrados have.

Looking good Trev, be interested to see how this develops.
I saw a thread in the Technical\16v forum on Vortex that might interest you the other day, it was a guy who makes up and sells brackets to relocate your alternator up top as per the Limited setup. Don't know if it's any use but have a look if you want
A:

Trev`s chosen the under charger location for the alt, you can`t fit it at the back due to the m/c.
The main G bracket is quite sturdy, but I think fitting the rear one is worth it.

I put the Megasquirt together tonight.

Any more trev?

Great conversion to do, hav a friend who has done the same - S**T HOT!!!! He got bored of his 280bhp at the wheels and is doing a big turbo conversion now!!!Will post an update maybe of how he is doing.
A:

Dude, I painted my block.

A:

Trev , i sortta got misslayed ! , have u sorted a gear box yet ?
A:

Ah, yep - I've got a gearbox from a crashed G60 Corrado. Also have a cable-change 'box from a Passat as a backup.
Pitstop are overhauling and porting my supercharger for me at the moment. I originally bought that 'charger for quite a lot of money on the understanding that it is a low-mileage unit, and Pitstop confirmed that it's in 'almost new' condition inside, so I'm pretty chuffed about that.
I'm going to use their separate oil feed system, too.

A:

Not long now, looking very tidy
A:

I'm bloody petrified about starting this thing.
A:

It`ll be right! Give it a good 4 or 6 manual turns on the crank to make sure you have no interference and it`ll be fine

A:

Yeah, I was very eager to get the engine together complete with the timing belt installed just so that I could see how the whole engine turns over by hand. It feels fine.
I like that AF/EGR meter that you've got, Keith. The one you mentioned in the other thread. Might get myself one of those.

wow super cool!
